True Sun LLC came into existance in 1996 as a resource for treating certain ailments (seasonal affective disorder) through alternative methods, particularly light therapy. The owners, an electrical engineer and a clinical therapist, stumbled on light therapy technology in treating a host of physical and mental health issues. They researched a number of manufacturers and continue to do so.

Initially, their focus was on light therapy as an alternative medicine for SAD. This was followed with full spectrum lighting for people that do not receive enough natural sunlight, whether they work shifts, work indoors with no windows, spent a lot time in the house or are hit hard in the fall, winter and spring months.

In the following years air purification systems, pain management and sleep aids were added.

The cranial electric stimulation (Beck's brain tuner and bio-tuner) was added as a possible breakthrough in helping with some major ailments such as addictions, depression, chronic fatigue, etc. (this is currently sold as a relaxation unit). Along with this, the light and sound units to help with anxiety and stress have been introduced.

Most recently, TrueSun.com nutritional dietary supplements have been introduced.  An extensive research by TrueSun has resulted in the supplements listed below each ailment.  Many books and articles have been written concerning the use of supplements for certain ailments.  TrueSun asks that you refer to these books and consult a doctor when making a decision to use supplements.
